Ingredients
- It's of Round or Chuck Roast (I usually go for a 2.5-3.5 pounder).
- Prepare of Idaho Potatoes (depending on size), peeled & cut.
- Prepare of Large carrots, peeled & cut.
- It's of Onion (I prefer to use red and/or yellow), largely sliced.
- Prepare of Salt & Pepper.
- Prepare of Thyme.
- You need of Onion Powder.
- You need of Garlic Powder.
- You need of Paprika.
- Prepare of Basil.
- It's of Sage.
- Prepare of French Onion Soup/Dip Mix.
- You need of Brown Gravy.
- It's of Beef Broth.
- It's of Optional: 1 Cube of Beef Bouillon.
Slow Cooked Pot Roast method
- You can brown the roast on all sides in A large skillet to help lock in flavors and help keep the roast together. I choose not to because I like my roast to fall apart when poked with a meat fork :).
- Rinse roast and then rub down with all seasonings (Thyme, Onion & Garlic Powder, Paprika, Basil, Sage, Salt & Pepper-- I use A LOT of pepper). Place roast in crockpot. Pour package of French Onion Soup/Mix on roast. Pour 1 box of Beef Broth around the roast. Add Onions around the roast then Carrots. Add last box of Beef Broth. Add package of brown gravy. Lastly, add in Potatoes. Put lid on, set crockpot on low for 10 hours..
