The combo of sausage, chicken, and shrimp with Creole seasoning and rice is always a winner in my book. This was very similar to my usual recipe I use for jambalaya. Jambalaya step by step

  1. Stir together celery, onion, undrained tomatoes, broth, tomato paste, Cajun seasoning, garlic and 1/2 teaspoon salt into slow cooker.
  2. Stir in chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on low heat for 5 to 6 hours.
  4. Turn to high and stir in uncooked rice and sweet pepper.
  5. Cover and cook 30 mins more.
  6. Stir in shrimp and parsley and season to taste with additional salt and ground black pepper.
  7. Garnish each serving with celery leaves and splash with bottled hot pepper sauce.
